THE HISTORY OF THE KINGARTH HOTEL
 
The history of the Kingarth can be traced back  hundreds of years. The oldest part of the building was originally a croft, which was extended and first recorded as an Inn in 1786. Over the years the Hotel has been further extended and operated for many years as a Coaching Inn and functioning Smiddy (Blacksmiths)

 
Having bought the hotel in October 1997, we have concentrated on developing it’s potential to benefit both local and tourist guests. The Smiddy Bar was opened on 28th July 2001 following an extensive building project to convert the old blacksmiths barn.
